Description

Links House is an early 19th-century classical style house designed in the style of David Neave. It features two storeys and a basement, with a three-bay rectangular plan. The exterior is constructed from ashlar and rubble masonry, topped with a slate roof. The house has inharmonious 12-pane sliding case uPVC windows with narrow painted margins throughout, and skew gables with coped, harled gable stacks.

On the south elevation, there are two widely spaced windows at the basement level. A base course runs along the ground floor, with steps that oversail the basement leading to a central recessed door set in an elliptical arch. This door is adorned with a fanlight and a Doric columned doorpiece, flanked by additional windows. A cill course is present at the first floor level, which features three windows, along with a cornice and blocking course.

The east elevation includes a window at the first floor on the left side. The north elevation has a single-storey harled addition with a piended slate roof on the right. This side features a window at the ground floor left and two widely spaced windows at the first floor. The roof is raised over the stairwell, which includes a top light.

The property is enclosed by rubble boundary walls with round coping. The southern boundary is low with railings, and there is a lintelled gateway on the right adjoining a high wall to the east. Capped gatepiers are located on the left, with a high stepped wall further left that has a blocked window, adjoining the western wall to St Vincent Street. The wall with coping extends from the right gatepier to the southwest corner of the house.
