Description
South Lodge, Dunskey House, was designed by James Kennedy Hunter between 1901 and 1904. This is a two-storey, two-bay lodge built in an L-plan with a lean-to extension at the rear, featuring harled walls and crowstepped gables.
On the southwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a roll-moulded entrance leading to a recessed bay on the outer right, with a timber door. To the outer left, an advanced gabled bay contains a single window at ground level, while the first floor has two single windows.
The northeast elevation, or rear, includes the lean-to extension at ground level, which has a single window on the left and a timber door on the right, flanked by coped walls topped with ball finials. The gabled bay above features a single window at the first floor.
The lodge is fitted with 8-and 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a wallhead stack, and circular chimney cans. The interior was not seen in 1997.
