Description

Dunskey Home Farm is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey farm building designed in an E-plan layout. The northern side is harled, while the southern side features whinstone, with red brick surrounds in a long and short pattern around the windows in the whinstone range.

The southwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central M-gabled house. It features a recessed timber door topped with a shoulder-arched fanlight. There are single windows on either side at both the ground and first floors, with the ground floor window on the left being bipartite. To the left of the centre, there is a gabled bay with bipartite windows on both floors and adjoining walls on either side. This bay also has a three-stage bellcote with blank clock stages on the second stage and a broken spire. To the right of the centre, there is another gabled bay with a boarded opening on the first floor.

The northwest elevation of the south courtyard has nine bays. It features segmental arch openings for cartsheds at the ground level across seven bays to the left, with regular fenestration on the first floor, which has smaller windows. The penultimate bay on the right has a door that replaces a window, and there is a loading bay at the outer right on the first floor.

The southeast elevation has three single windows at the ground level on the outer left. The penultimate bay to the right contains a gabled dovecot with a segmental arch leading to a boarded entrance, a blank square plaque, and dovecot openings. The taller gabled bay on the outer right has a square opening at the ground level and a central opening in the attic.

The central house features plate glass timber sash and case windows, along with rooflights. The roof is covered with grey slate and has stone skews and skewputts.

Inside, there are remains of a timber mill.
