Description
The building is a steading from the early to earlier 19th century located at Castlewigg. It features an entrance range that has been altered at the rear. The structure is built of rubble with red sandstone ashlar dressings, highlighted by a pedimented central bay that breaks the eaves. There is a depressed, keystoned carriage arch with impost blocks, and above it, a tripartite window is set in the pedimented bay that also breaks the eaves. An oculus is present in the tympanum, with small windows flanking either side under the eaves of the lower ranges. The openings are asymmetrically arranged, and sliding doors have been introduced.
To the left of the center, there are original doors and windows in the outer bays, while to the right, there are stable doors at ground level and small granary windows positioned close under the eaves above. The tripartite opening contains small-pane sash and case windows, with fixed small-pane windows flanking below. Additionally, ridge stacks are located on either side of the central bay, and the roof is covered with corrugated material.
