Description
These kennels, dating from the earlier 19th century, are accompanied by a two-stage castellated folly. The buildings are constructed of rubble.
The kennels are a single-storey, three-bay gabled structure with a central door featuring a letterbox fanlight, and windows on either side. A lower, two-bay block is recessed slightly to the left, with a door to the right, and a roofless section to the left which has a door on its end return gable. The doors are boarded, and there are gablehead stacks. Twelve-pane sash and case windows are present. The roof is covered with graded slates.
To the right of the kennels stands a two-stage tower folly, set against the right return gable. It features angle buttresses on its outer elevation, a blocked pointed arch doorway, a lancet window above, and a dividing string course. The wallhead is crenellated and in a ruinous state.
A rubble-walled kennel run extends to the left and includes a brick parapet on one side (with railings now removed). A wrought iron gate is also present.
