Description

Wigtown Bay Sailing Club is an early 19th-century, two-storey building that was originally a harbour warehouse. It has an asymmetrical five-bay, roughly rectangular plan and is currently used as sailing club premises, a function it has served since 2016. The building is constructed from painted coursed whinstone rubble and features fixed eight-pane replacement timber casement windows with top hopper openings. To the left of the centre, there are loading door openings on both the ground and first floors, along with a modern timber balcony. An additional door is located at the far right. The slate roof, which was re-slated in 1994, is piended to the right and gabled to the left, with straight skews and coping. The interior has been modified to create accommodation facilities for members of the local sailing club. It is important to note that the lean-to extension at the rear and the linked store to the southwest are excluded from the listing.
