72 Main Street, Isle Of Whithorn

This building at 72 Main Street in Isle of Whithorn consists of a pair of late 18th century, two-storey and attic, two-bay houses. Number 72 is constructed of painted rubble, while number 74 is harled. Both houses feature painted raised margins, with number 72 also having raised painted angles. Number 74 is slightly lower than number 72.

To the right, the doorway of number 72 includes a fanlight, and there is a small oculus window at the extreme right. The windows are single light, with number 74 having sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing, while number 72 has modern pivot, two-pane, plate glass windows. Both houses have raised basecourses, and number 72 features an eaves band.

The end skews are present, along with coped end stacks topped with thackstanes, a sandstone ridge, and slate roofs. Both houses also have small modern three-light box dormers.
