Description
19-23 Townhead Street in Lockerbie is a two-storey terraced row built in 1885. The building features coursed bull-faced red ashlar, with some areas cleaned of stone, and polished dressings. It has segmental-arched panels above the house doors and window heads. The row consists of four three-bay ranges. The house on the left has a plain doorpiece and a double doorway, although one of the doors has been converted into a window. Most of the ground floor windows are bipartite. The right half of the ground floor has an original shop front made of stone, timber, and glass, while the upper floors have domestic-scale windows with plate glass sashes. The building has corniced axial stacks and a continuous slate roof, along with a louvred single wide dormer ventilator. There is also a large rear wing.
