Star Hotel, High Street, Moffat

The Star Hotel, located on High Street in Moffat, is a building from the later 19th century, featuring early bays on Star Street. It has a gable end facing High Street and stands three stories tall with an attic, displaying a narrow three-bay frontage. The exterior is constructed of polished red sandstone ashlar with rendered flanks. The entrance is marked by a modern porch and is situated in a central three-story canted bay that has a panelled parapet, with four lights in the upper windows. There are narrow flanking windows, hood-moulded bipartite windows, and a star shield in the gable head. The roof is slated. Additionally, there are three return four-story bays and an earlier three-story four-bay wing, although the end bay has been modernized.
