Description
J Hyslop And Co is a mid 19th century building that stands two stories high over a raised basement, featuring three bays. The structure is made of neatly coursed whinstone with painted ashlar dressings. There are steps leading up to a panelled central door, which is adorned with a pilastered doorpiece. To the left, there are similar steps that lead to a shop door, which is linked to a window beneath a bracketed cornice. On the southern side, there is a bipartite window also under a similar cornice. The outer windows on the first floor are bipartite and have cill bands. The building has an eaves course and cornice, topped by a gabled slated roof with end stacks.
