Description
The Forestry Commission Offices in Moffat, built in the later 19th century, is a two-storey building with a raised basement and three gabled bays, featuring an advanced central bay. The structure is made of graded coursed whinstone with ashlar dressings. The entrance is accessed by steps at the north side. It has a boldly consoled cornice with a balustraded balcony, and the windows are bipartite with apron panels and consoled cornices on the ground floor, while the upper floor has plain cornices. The basement features lying-pane glazing, and there are cill bands at both the ground and first floors. The roof is slated.
