Description
1 Well Street in Moffat is a mid-19th century building that stands two stories tall and features three bays facing High Street and seven bays facing Well Street. The exterior is finished in painted render with contrasting dressings. On the High Street side, there is a pilastered shop front with a central door flanked by two windows. The first floor has three windows, two of which are tripartite and set back in panels. The building has an eaves band and cornice topped with a blocking course, and it is capped by a piended slated roof. The elevation facing Well Street includes two shopfronts, with a door and one window to the east side. The first floor features seven windows, with a central tripartite window, and maintains similar eaves and cornice detailing as the High Street elevation.
