Description
The Town House on High Street in Moffat dates back to 1772, with some later alterations. It is a low, two-storey building featuring a pedimented gable end facing the street and four bays along Well Street. The gable end is made of painted coursed whinstone, while the long elevations are constructed from painted rubble with ashlar dressings. The ground floor has been modified with later 19th century shops. A bulls-eye window is located in the pediment, and there is a clock tower behind the apex, topped with a later pyramidal roof. The building has a slated roof.
