Description

This is a free-standing sundial dated 1828, located in Bargaly. It is made of red sandstone and features a square pedestal that is divided into three stages by string courses, with a rosette on each face of the upper stage. The sundial has a chamfered table and a square moulded dial-stone with angled corners, resting on a concave base. The circular bronze dial is inscribed with "John Mackie, Bargaly 1828" and "A Adie, Edinburgh," and it has an open gnomon.
