Description

The Old Bridge of Palnure is an early 19th-century vehicular bridge that crosses the Palnure Burn, oriented on an east-west axis. It features a single span with a semicircular arch constructed of rubble. The bridge has granite slab coping and long wingwalls, which are truncated to the southeast. The remaining wingwalls end with square piers that are granite dressed and topped with flat pyramidal caps. Additionally, there is an iron frame that carries a pipe across the burn, located next to the northern elevation of the bridge.
