Description
The Smithy at Palnure is an early 19th-century, single-storey building that originally served as a smithy. It features a two-bay design constructed from rubble.
On the south elevation, there are windows on both the left and right sides. The west elevation has a door on the left. The north elevation has a modern timber lean-to attached, while the east elevation also has a timber lean-to adjoined.
The building is topped with red sandstone coped skew stones and has rubble gablehead stacks on both the east and west sides. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, although much of the slates on the north pitch are missing.
