Weigh Office And Cart Shed, Oldmeldrum Station, Eavern Place, Oldmeldrum

The Weigh Office and Cart Shed at Oldmeldrum Station is a mid-19th century single-storey building with a rectangular plan. It is constructed of roughly squared coursed rubble, featuring red sandstone margins and quoins, with a timber-boarded section at the west end.

The north elevation, which is the principal front, has a timber-boarded section on the right with a full-height timber-boarded door. In the center, there are two round-arched openings that contain two-leaf timber-boarded doors. To the left, there is a timber panelled door, and at the far left, a window that is partly boarded up.

The south elevation is a blank wall that is largely obscured by an adjoining building that is not listed. On the east side elevation, there is a single window that has been bricked up on the right. The west side elevation features a blank gable with a pitched roof, covered in graded dark grey slates. The stone skews and skewputts are present on the east gable and at the division between the masonry and timber sections. There is a corniced red sandstone gable-head stack with an octagonal can on the east gable, and a brick stack located on the north pitch close to the west gable.
