Boat House, Mire Loch, St Abb's Head

The Boat House at Mire Loch, St Abb's Head, is an early 20th-century structure with later additions and alterations. It is a single-storey, rectangular-plan building made up of two adjoining blocks that step down the sloping site. The exterior features tooled red rubble sandstone, which is squared and rake-jointed in parts, along with cream sandstone dressings. The building has stugged quoins and long and short surrounds to its openings, with projecting cills.

On the northeast elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a gable end with a large, square-headed boat opening at the center. The southeast elevation features a higher two-bay block to the left, which includes a boarded window at the center and a boarded timber door to the right. There is also a flat-roofed addition projecting to the outer left. The lower block is attached to the right and has a boarded timber door at the center.

The southwest elevation is a blind gable end that is built into the hillside. On the northwest elevation, the higher block to the right has a boarded window offset to the left of center, while the lower block to the left has a single window at the outer left.

The building has boarded windows and pantiled roofs with purple slate easing courses. There is a corniced red sandstone apex stack on the southwest elevation, although the can is missing. The interior was not seen in 1999.
