Description
The Cartshed and Granary at Outerston Farm is an early 19th-century building that features a two-storey, six-bay rectangular plan. It is constructed of random rubble with stugged dressings, and the margins are droved. The building has long and short quoins and an eaves course.
The west elevation is nearly symmetrical, with segmental arches over each bay on the ground floor. There is a boarded timber door within the arch on the outer left, and each bay on the first floor has openings, although some glazing is missing.
The north elevation is obscured by an adjoining cottage. The east elevation was not seen in 1998. The south elevation is asymmetrical, featuring a boarded timber door off-centre to the left on the first floor, which is accessed by a flight of stone steps.
The building predominantly has four-pane timber windows and a replacement corrugated iron roof, with stone skews. There is a stugged, coped gablehead stack on the south side with circular cans, and cast iron rainwater goods are present. The interior was not seen in 1998.
