Description
The Town Hall in Market Square, Oldmeldrum, was designed by William Smith and completed in 1877. It features a striking facade made of rough granite ashlar, which is two stories tall. The center of the building slightly projects and includes an arched entrance that resembles the door of the previous Town House that stood on this site. Above the entrance is a coat of arms and a clock stage supported by consoles, topped with an ogee-capped timber and lead bell turret. There are two windows on either side of the entrance, with arched shapes on the ground floor and curved angles that are corbelled to a square above. The interior is simple, with a large room located on the first floor.
