Description
The Town Hall in Bellingham is a late 19th-century building constructed of dressed stone, featuring a wooden clock tower. It has Welsh slate and lead roofs and consists of one tall storey with basements at the rear. The façade is divided into seven bays, with a central doorway that has an original panelled door framed by Tuscan pilasters, a plain frieze, and a cornice. Above the door is a tapered stone tablet with a rounded top, which displays the town's coat of arms. The building features tall two-light sash windows, and the right bay has been converted into a door. The gabled roof includes kneelers, ridged coping, and a diagonally-set stone corniced gable stack. A clock turret, which is set forward from the wall and breaks the eaves, is supported by two wooden struts and topped with a lead spire that has cross-gablets and four corner spirelets. The Town Hall is included for its group value and historical interest.
