Description

The houses at 1 and 2 West View, Bellingham, date from the early 19th century. They are built of ashlar stone with a Welsh slate roof. The two- and three-bay houses are arranged over two storeys. The left-hand house has a 12-panelled door on its right side, featuring Tuscan pilasters, a plain frieze, and a cornice. Windows are 12-pane sashes set in flat, raised surrounds. The right-hand house has similar detailing, with a central doorway. Both houses share raised quoins, a first-floor sill band, and a plain cornice. The roof is gabled with flat coping, and there are one ridge stack and two gable stacks. The rear fenestration of No. 2 was significantly altered in the late 20th century.
