Description
The Cartshed and Granary at Graden is an earlier 19th-century building featuring a rectangular plan, two storeys, and nine bays. The structure is constructed of harl-pointed rubble sandstone with some tooled rubble dressings. It has rubble quoins and long and short rubble surrounds around its openings. The cart openings are segmental-arched and divided by square plan columns, with some bays partially infilled. The first floor has projecting timber cills.
On the south front elevation, there is a blocked doorway in the center at ground level, with segmental-arched cart openings in four bays to the right. A sliding door obscures the bay to the left, while there is a single window in a bricked-up opening in the next bay over. The two remaining bays to the left have two-leaf boarded timber doors leading to segmental-arched cart openings. The first floor features seven regularly spaced rectangular granary openings, which have fixed 10-pane glazing in the upper sections and shuttered timber vents below. A forestair is recessed to the outer right.
The east side elevation includes a stair leading to a square-headed doorway centered at the first floor. The building is topped with a graded grey slate roof, raised stone skews, and replacement rainwater goods.
