Description

Mid to later 19th century. Single storey gabled lodge; later addition to N, forming L-plan to E. Painted rubble; painted ashlar dressings. Rusticated quoins. Timber mullioned and transomed windows. Overhanging eaves.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: gabled porch advaned at centre; corniced rusticated doorcase; panelled door, with glazed upper panels. Gabled bay to left; canted window, with cornice and blocking course. Angle to L-plan recessed to right.

E ELEVATION: gabled bay to left; canted window, with cornice and blocking course. Angle to L-plan recessed to right.

W ELEVATION: advanced to right, with window. Later addition recessed to left; 2 single light windows, and door to left.

Modern small-pane glazing in casement windows. Graded grey slates. Painted, corniced and rusticated ridge stack at centre of S roof. GATEPIERS AND RAILINGS: low rubble wall, curved to NW and SW; red sandstone coping. Cast-iron fleur-de-lis railings. Painted ashlar square piers; pyramidal-capped. 2-leaf cast-iron gates, with fleur-de-lis detailing.
