Description
The sundial at Pool Park is a Grade II listed structure made of sandstone and features a columnar design. It stands on a moulded square plinth with chamfered corners. The shaft of the sundial exhibits noticeable entasis and is positioned on a tall rectangular base adorned with strapwork decoration on all four sides. At the top of the shaft is a square abacus, which displays paired, chip-carved rosettes on two faces, while the other two faces feature the date 1661 and the initials C.S., both raised in relief. The sundial plate is currently missing, and the sundial is held up by modern strapping wires.
