Description
The lychgate at the Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels is constructed from limestone rubble and features a pitched slate roof with sandstone ridges. It has oversailing eaves and deep verges that showcase expressed purlin ends. The roof is supported by rounded sandstone corbels, with two on each face of the gable walls. The front, facing southwest, has late 19th-century panelled oak half-gates that include simple pierced tracery in the upper section. At the northeast end, there are contemporary narrow rubble benches along the inner walls.
