Description

The sundial at Colonsay House is dated 1803 and is made of red sandstone. It features a bronze gnomon, which is the part that casts the shadow, and is inscribed with 'Adie & Son, Edinburgh'. The sundial has moulded octagonal stems, with the lowest part inscribed '1803', and it stands on a two-stepped base.
