Description
Scalasaig Parish Church, located in Scalasaig on the island of Colonsay, was built in 1802 and designed by Michael Carmichael in the Georgian style. The church has an oblong shape and is rendered with a piended slate roof. It features round-headed windows and a projecting central pavilion, which includes a distinctive belfry. The church also has a semi-circular bay topped with a semi-conical roof.
Inside, the church has undergone alterations; it previously had a gallery that was accessed by external stairs at both ends, which have since been removed. The interior boasts a coombed panelled ceiling.
