Tollhouse, 2 Creebridge, Newton Stewart

The building is a former tollhouse located at 2 Creebridge in Newton Stewart, dating from around 1813. It is a single-storey structure with a canted elevation, currently functioning as a shop and situated at the end of a terrace. The exterior is made of painted rubble with painted margins.

On the southeast elevation, which is canted, there is a door located to the southeast and a window to the southwest. There is a brick square-plan projection to the south, featuring a rubble base and a square display window on each face.

The east elevation, facing Creebridge, has a square display window on the left and a window on the right. The west elevation includes a lean-to extension made of painted brick, which has a window to the right facing south and both a door and a window on the west side.

The north elevation is adjoined to No 4 Creebridge, which is listed separately. The building features plate glass display windows and has a half-pitched roof with slightly swept eaves, covered with graded grey-green slates.
