Tollhouse, 12 Graham Avenue, East Kilbride

The building is a tollhouse located at 12 Graham Avenue in East Kilbride, dating from the later 18th century with some later additions. It is a single-storey structure with an irregular plan, constructed from squared and snecked rubble featuring stugged ashlar dressings. The west wing has a base course, deep eaves, and timber bargeboards.

On the west elevation, there is a canted gable at the center with a bipartite window that is now blocked. There are single blocked windows on both the right and left splays, and the entrance is situated in the left re-entrant angle.

The north elevation has a gable on the left with a blocked window, and a smaller blocked window to the right.

The east elevation features a projecting gable in the center, a blind wall to the left, and a single window to the right.

On the south elevation, there is a gable to the right with a single window, while the left side has a blind outshot. The building has modern glazing, a grey slate roof, a short coped stack at the gable head on the north elevation, and a tall coped stack in the re-entrant angle on the south elevation.
