Description
This is a painted cast-iron signpost located at the junction of the B794, near Old Bridge of Urr, made by Stanton in 1933. The signpost features a tapered post painted in black and white stripes, with four ring shafts and a corniced base. At the top, there is a hoop finial that reads "KIRKCUDBRIGHTSHIRE" in raised lettering on both sides. Near the base of the post, there is a maker's mark that also reads "STANTON 1933" in raised lettering. The signpost has four later arms made of sheet metal, which are attached with metal bands and display painted lettering and arrows.
