Description

Earlier 19th century. Symmetrical 2-storey villa with

basement. 5 bays, outer advanced bays possibly not original

with 2-storey canted windows, main parapet and conservatory

adjoining south flank all added later in 19th century.

Rendered, with ashlar margins and dressings; all painted.

Sash windows with mostly 4-pane glazing. West elevation:

central flight of steps with barley-sugar balusters leads to

central doorway, latter recessed behind Roman Doric screen;

tripartite above and in flanking bays at ground level. Main

cornice; parapet, advanced and raised over inner bay,

balustraded over outer bays. Piended slate roofs with Grecian

cast-iron cresting Conservatory also balustraded, 3 bays,

with door nearest canted end, round-arched glazing in

square-headed openings; full-length lantern.
