Netherwood Bank

Netherwood Bank is an earlier 19th century symmetrical two-storey villa with a basement. The building features five bays, with the outer advanced bays possibly being non-original. These outer bays have two-storey canted windows. A main parapet and a conservatory added to the south flank were both completed later in the 19th century. The exterior is rendered, with ashlar margins and dressings, all painted.

The villa has sash windows, mostly with four-pane glazing. On the west elevation, a central flight of steps with barley-sugar balusters leads to a central doorway, which is recessed behind a Roman Doric screen. There is a tripartite window above the doorway and in the flanking bays at ground level. The main cornice and parapet are advanced and raised over the inner bay, with balustrades over the outer bays. The roofs are piended slate with Grecian cast-iron cresting. The conservatory is also balustraded, consisting of three bays, with a door nearest the canted end and round-arched glazing in square-headed openings, topped with a full-length lantern.
