Description

This is an early 19th-century farmhouse with a lower, single-storey west wing and an attic. The main house is two storeys and three bays, while the wing is a single bay. The building is constructed of painted rubble with margin details and rusticated quoins. The south elevation of the house features a later central porch with a finialed gable, and the windows are 12-pane sashes. An eaves course, cornice, and corniced end stacks are present. The west wing has a gabled attic dormer head. The house has been widened to its full length at the rear, potentially incorporating some earlier fabric, with a roof that sweeps over. All roofs are slated. The statutory address is Dungalston Farmhouse (Caigdarroch Estate).
