Description
Broomfield is an earlier 19th-century villa situated in Moniaive. It is a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay design with a raised basement and bowed outer bays, complemented by a single-storey and attic recessed west wing and an additional bay to the east. The exterior is harled with painted margins.
The south elevation features a prominent central Roman Doric-columned porch accessed by steps, leading to a round-headed doorway within a cavetto moulding. The doorway is fitted with a panelled door and a fanlight above. A band course runs along the ground level. All windows above the ground floor are four-pane sashes. Symmetrically placed chimney stacks rise from the roof, which is clad in slate and curved over the bowed bays.
The west wing extends to the south with three bays, its upper floors supported by two Tuscan columns. Two circular, corniced, painted ashlar gatepiers mark the entrance to the south.
