Description

Late 18th/early 19th century. Former stables, 3 ranges in

U-plan around courtyard; now mostly domestic. Single storey

with lofts. Whitewashed rubble, contrasting painted ashlar

margins. Inner range has symmetrical 5-bay courtyard

elevation, central (modern glazed) door below circular

opening, 12-pane sashes below louvred loft openings; outer

ranges have pedimented end walls and rusticated quoins;

each is symmetrical, with 3 bays and central diamond

ornament; east range has segmental arched cartways, west

range has central door, window above with gabled dormer

head. Wall-head and axial stacks; roofed with graded

slates.
