Description
The stables at Dalskairth House date from the late 18th to early 19th century and are arranged in a U-plan around a courtyard, now primarily used for domestic purposes. The building is single storey with lofts and constructed from whitewashed rubble, featuring contrasting painted ashlar margins. The inner range has a symmetrical five-bay elevation facing the courtyard, with a central modern glazed door beneath a circular opening, and 12-pane sash windows below louvred loft openings. The outer ranges have pedimented end walls and rusticated quoins, each symmetrical with three bays and a central diamond ornament. The east range includes segmental arched cartways, while the west range features a central door with a window above, topped with a gabled dormer head. The building has wall-head and axial stacks and is roofed with graded slates.
