Description

Ewes Bridge in Langholm was built between 1784 and 1786. It is a road bridge featuring two segmental arches that span the Ewes Water. The bridge has pointed central cutwaters on either side and is constructed from stugged grey ashlar. It includes polished voussoirs and a band course below the parapets, which were rebuilt in the 19th century. The approaches to the bridge are ramped and splayed.
