Description
This is a lodge, dated 1884, originally consisting of stables built around a small courtyard. The building is single-storey. It is constructed of stugged and snecked ashlar with polished dressings and features crow-stepped gables. A datestone is set in the off-centre gable on the west wall, above a segmental-arched pend with slit openings on either side. The north elevation comprises a piended inner range, now in domestic use, linked by narrow bays to the outer gables. Square-headed openings provide access to the cobbled courtyard. The building has coped stacks and slate roofs. The statutory address is Arkleton House, former stables.
