Description
The property comprises a walled garden and glasshouses dating to the later 19th century, along with a gardener’s cottage. The garden is enclosed by a quadrangular layout with walls constructed of ashlar-coped rubble, with brick linings and buttresses. A lean-to range of glasshouses runs along the north wall and against the outer face of the south wall, extending the full length of that southern boundary. At the west end of the garden are square, polished ashlar gate piers topped with pyramidal caps and ball finials, flanked by modern wrought-iron gates. Situated at the northwest corner of the garden is a single-storey and attic, three-bay brick-built gardener’s cottage. The west elevation features segmental-arched ground floor openings. An off-centre door, topped with a fanlight, is set behind a gabled porch with bargeboards and slender columns; a window is positioned in the gable above the porch. A single window is present on the right bay, and a bipartite window on the left. The roof is piended and slate-covered.
