Regional Council Offices, 30 Edinburgh Road, Dumfries

The Regional Council Offices at 30 Edinburgh Road in Dumfries is a mid-19th century Scottish baronial villa with a later 19th century extension to the north. The building is asymmetrical and consists of two storeys. It features stugged red coursers with polished dressings, single mullioned or canted windows, steep-pedimented dormer heads, corbelling, and crow-stepped or ornamental gables.

On the west elevation, the original house is on the right, with a gabled entrance bay that is curved at the ground level and corbelled to a square shape above. It has a crenellated porch with an arched and hood-moulded doorway. To the right, there is a two-storey canted bay with a conical-roofed bartizan that is corbelled out above the ground floor at the southwest angle. The addition features twin gables, and the windows are mainly bipartite, with a mullioned and transomed hall window in the linking bay.

The building has coped, mainly wall-head stacks and slate roofs, and a large plain block abuts the garden front.
