St John's Episcopal Church, St John's Road, Annan

St John's Episcopal Church, built by Christopher Hodgson of Carlisle in 1842-1843, is a rectangular-plan, three-bay church featuring a chancel. The building is designed in the Gothic style, characterized by hood-moulded traceried windows in the buttressed bays and chancel, along with carved mask label stops. The plain gable facing the street includes two lancet windows and an apex belfry. Constructed from red ashlar, the church has a string course at cill level and a porch located at the west end of the north wall. The roof is finished with graded slates and features two axial ventilators.

Inside, the church has a straightforward open-timbered roof, an octagonal pulpit, and a timber eagle lectern. The church is set behind a low ashlar-built wall, which is complemented by tall gatepiers and cast-iron gates.
