Description

Earlier 19th century. Rectangular-plan church with

Tudor-arched openings. Wide main SW elevation to Bank Street

faced in lightly-tooled red ashlar (remainder coursed

rubble), pedimented wide gable broken by shallow advanced

central entrance bay terminating in blind square turret with

bracketted flat capping, plain corner pinnacles linked by

iron tie-rods; door at base with moulded reveals. Tall outer

lights with distinctive glazing pattern.

Shallow flanks also 3 bays with tall lights. Slate roof.

Canted brick and ashlar apse central on rear wall,

ashlar-faced hall and vestry to W all added perhaps early

20th century.
