Description

Later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse; 2-storey cheese loft adjoined to rear, forming L-plan. Painted rubble. Painted raised margins.

S ELEVATION: gabled porch at centre; door to left to W return; window to S; overhanging eaves and timber spike finial. Regularly disposed fenestration.

W ELEVATION: window to left to both floors. Cheese loft recessed to left.

E ELEVATION: gabled and blank.

N ELEVATION: window to left to both floors. Cheese loft adjoined to right.

CHEESE LOFT: door to house and window at 1st floor above to left to E elevation; 2 machinery doors and 3 windows at ground floor; 4 window openings at 1st floor. 3 window openings at ground floor and 4 at 1st floor to W elevation. Lean-to adjoined to N elevation.

Sash and case windows; 4-pane glazing, with smaller upper sashes, to S elevation, some 12-pane glazing. Small-pane glazing and boarded shutters to openings to cheese loft. Coped skews. Painted rubble stacks, gablehead to E and W, ridge to S between house and cheese loft. Purple slates. Octagonal cans.
