Cairnsmore, 4 Mill Street, Drummore

Cairnsmore is a cottage dating from after 1848. It is a single-story building with a basement, arranged over three bays. The basement is full-height on the rear, due to the sloping ground. The west elevation is painted render, while the remaining elevations are painted rubble. The west elevation features painted architraved margins, rusticated quoins, and a base course. The east elevation has painted margins.

The west (Mill Street) elevation has a door in the centre, featuring a panelled door with a letter-box fanlight above, approached by a short set of granite steps. Windows are located in the outer bays, truncated where they meet the basement level. Low rendered walls enclose the west side, forming an enclosure with a central gateway featuring two small square piers topped with small granite balls.

The north and south elevations are gabled and blank.

The east elevation has a basement door to the left of centre and a ground-floor window to the right of centre. Windows are present on both floors of the outer bays.

Modern glazing has been installed. The building has no skews and features painted rubble and brick gablehead stacks. It has modern tiles and no cans (rainwater pipes). No 4 Mill Street is not shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1848.
