Description
Allancreich is a farmhouse built around 1840, featuring a single storey and an attic with a three-bay rectangular plan, along with later additions and alterations. The exterior is constructed from coursed tooled granite rubble with long and short dressings, and includes a base course, projecting cills, consoled canopies over the ground floor openings, and crowstepped gables.
The southwest elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a glazed panelled timber door at the center of the ground floor, which has a letterbox fanlight above it, flanked by a window on each side. The attic features a modern skylight in the center, with flat-roofed timber box dormers on either side.
The southeast elevation is asymmetrical and gabled, with a window located off-centre to the right on the ground floor and another window off-centre to the left at the gablehead. There is a modern two-bay harled addition attached to the outer right.
The northeast elevation is mostly hidden by a modern harled addition that extends to the left, which includes a lean-to entrance bay. A cheese press is located to the right on the ground floor.
The northwest elevation is also asymmetrical and gabled, with a window placed off-centre to the right of the gablehead.
The farmhouse features a variety of timber sash and case windows, a graded grey slate roof with a tiled ridge, stone skews with corniced skewputts, and corniced granite gablehead stacks with circular cans. The rainwater goods are made from PVCu. The interior was not seen in 1999.
