Description

Milton is an early 19th-century farmhouse featuring a single storey and attic with a T-plan layout. The exterior is harled with granite margins and has strip quoins.

The southwest elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a timber pilastered doorway at the center of the ground floor, which includes a 2-pane fanlight and a glazed and panelled timber door from the 1930s. There is a window on each side of the doorway, and the attic has a 2-pane skylight flanked by piend-roofed canted timber dormers.

The southeast elevation is also symmetrical but has a blank gable. The northeast elevation is near-symmetrical with three bays. It features a gabled bay that is advanced to the center, with a piend-roofed addition. There are two windows on the right return, a glazed panelled timber door with a 2-pane fanlight, and two windows flanking the door on the left return. Additionally, there is a window in the left bay and another in the right bay, along with 2-pane skylights in the attic.

The northwest elevation is blank. The farmhouse predominantly has 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is made of graded grey slate with a stone ridge, and it features stone skews and coped granite gablehead stacks with octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also present.

An ancillary structure made of tooled coursed granite is located to the northwest of the farmhouse. It has three boarded timber doors and a timber window on the southeast elevation, along with a window on the gabled northeast elevation. The northwest and southwest elevations were not seen in 1998. The structure has a grey slate roof with a tiled ridge and cast-iron rainwater goods. The interior of this structure was not seen in 1998.
