Description
Drumlanrig Heather House is a rustic, timber-built summerhouse from the mid-19th century, located within the Drumlanrig Estate. The building has an octagonal plan and features a shallow-pitch conical roof supported by tree trunks. The bays are constructed with split logs, and the entrance is situated to the north, with window openings in the flanking bays, all featuring bell-cast shaped arched heads. The roof is made of slate.
Inside, the walls are faced with split twigs arranged in geometric patterns, and there are seats along the walls made of matting. The floor is cobbled.
