Description
21 Castle Street in Kirkcudbright is an early 19th-century terraced house that stands two stories over a basement with an attic, featuring three bays. The building is constructed of rubble with painted margins and rusticated quoins facing Raggits Lane. The central entrance has a panelled door topped by a decorative fanlight, flanked by two windows that have two glazed basement lights below. On the first floor, there are three windows, all fitted with 12-pane sash windows. A modern wallhead dormer with two lights has been added, which is considered unfortunate. The house has a slate roof and a later wing at the rear.
