Description
22 Castle Street in Kirkcudbright is an early 19th-century terraced house featuring two storeys and an attic. The building has three bays, with one return bay facing Union Street. It is constructed of painted ashlar, with margin detailing at the ground floor and architraves at the first floor, along with rusticated quoins. The central door is adorned with a decorative fanlight and is flanked by windows. There are three windows on the first floor, with the central one being blind. The glazing consists of 12 panes, except for the left ground floor window. A modern dormer is present, and there is one window at the ground level facing Union Street, which was originally a door, along with one window on the first floor. The building continues as No 2 Union Street. The roof is slate, with a piended design on the left side.
