Description
This is a mid-19th century schoolhouse built as a single-storey and attic cottage of painted rubble construction. It has polished stone margins outlining the corners and window and door openings. A central doorway features a consoled cornice above, and the door itself has a fanlight. The windows are single-light and have 12 panes arranged in a lying-pane pattern. The building has corniced axial stacks with flat skews, and a slate roof. There are two timber-gabled dormers with finials, each containing a sash window with eight lying-panes. On the east side of the building, round-arched windows are present on both the ground floor and in the attic. The schoolhouse is part of a group of buildings with Beechgrove and 37-39 St David's Street.
