Description
This is an early 19th century cottage of rubble construction, originally a single-storey, three-bay design. A two-storey, two-bay wing extends to the north, utilising the natural slope of the land. The front of the cottage features polished window and corner details. A central doorway has a modern timber porch added in 1986. The windows are 12-pane sash windows. The north wing includes an inserted garage door with a concrete lintel, and has timber vertical board doors. Its window openings lack dressed margins. Chimneys with cornices, slate roofs, flat skews, and thackstanes are present at the ends and along the central axis. The building forms part of a group of buildings including number 37 St David's Street, a schoolhouse, and Beechgrove.
